April 29 - Betty LaDuke Day
Betty LaDuke’s “Dreaming Cows” mural and paintings capture the spirit of Heifer’s work. “During my first visit to a Heifer project in Rwanda in 2003, I found a country reeling from genocide nine years earlier," LaDuke said. "How could the gift of a cow or goat make a difference for a family’s survival in body as well as spirit? Since then, I continue to explore this theme with Heifer in Africa, Latin America, Asia, Eastern Europe and the United States.”
This spring, LaDuke's work will be available to many through a new book, and her murals in the new Heifer Village.
